Students at Palo Verde Magnet High School decided to replicate a wetland ecosystem typical to the vanishing habitat of the Santa Cruz River Valley of southern Arizona. The center has become a multi-disciplinary educational resource and has even gained the proper permits from the Arizona Game and Fish Department to maintain endangered native fish including the Desert Pupfish and the Gila Topminnow.
